September 7, 2011 Filed on September 7, 2011, the stipulation and order of settlement in the class action lawsuit Joseph S. et al. v. Hogan; the class includes residents of nursing homes with mental illness who were placed in the facility following hospitalization in a psychiatric facility. The state agreed to provide community-based housing and supportive services to the class members within three years.  The plaintiffs had accused the state of permitting psychiatric centers and nursing homes to transfer patients back and forth instead of providing adequate housing.
