Missouri DMH Telehealth Project for Autism Diagnosis
September 9, 2010 A small pilot program in Missouri used telehealth equipment to assess children ages two to four years for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The telehealth diagnosis was compared to traditional face-to-face assessments. The telehealth assessment sessions included a parent questionnaire and a specific set of toys to help the examiner evaluate each childÂ’s social interaction, communication, interests, and repetitive behaviors.
