The Trend in Long-Term Unemployment and Characteristics of Workers Unemployed for More than 99 Weeks
September 12, 2011 The Congressional Research Service examined trends in long-term unemployment and the characteristics of workers unemployed for more than 99 weeks. As of June 2011, of the 14 million unemployed workers, more than two million have been unemployed for more than 99 weeks, which is the cutoff point for unemployment insurance in states with high unemployment rates.
