September 15, 2010 The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) reported that in fiscal year 2008-2009, it had a Medicaid budget of $14.5 billion and made capitated payments of $7.4 billion for Medicaid managed care services. About 74% of the stateÂ’s Medicaid expenditures were for three population groups: persons with disabilities ($4.6 billion), chronic illnesses ($932 million), or older adults ($4.5 billion). These three groups represented 39% of the total 1.9 million Pennsylvanians eligible for Medicaid during state fiscal year 2008-2009. Download the Report . . .
