Arkansas State Hospital Report Assessment for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Compliance
September 15, 2011 The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) reached an agreement with federal regulators on an improvement plan for the state psychiatric hospital and averted the loss of federal funds. The agreement called for the hospital to pay for third-party consultants to review policies and practices, including how prescription drugs are dispensed to patients, reducing the use of restraints and seclusion, and how staff are trained.
