HHS Health Insurance Marketplace Premiums For 2014

The federal government presented average premiums for the health insurance plans being sold for 48 states through the state/federal Health Insurance Marketplaces. Nationwide, the median monthly premium is $328 for the second-lowest cost Silver plan (the benchmark for premium tax credits), before any premium tax credits are applied to reduce the monthly premium to 10% of income. Monthly premium prices for the benchmark Silver plan range widely across the states, from the low of $192 in Minnesota to the high of $516 in Wyoming.
