Primary Care Spending: Select Data From Rhode Island Commercial Health Insurers

In October 2013, the Rhode Island Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) presented select data on its Affordability Standards program. OHIC collects data from fully insured commercial health plans operating in Rhode Island to support its Affordability Standards, specifically #1) Insurers must raise the amount of money spent on primary care by one percentage point each year; and 2) Insurers must spend a target percentage (35%) of primary care spending on non fee- for-service (FFS) activities.
