Characteristics Of Homeless Individuals Using Emergency Department Services In 2014

On October 15, 2017, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) released this report on the characteristics of homeless individuals who used emergency department (ED) services in 2014. Among the report's findings were that more than three-fourths of all ED visits by homeless individuals were to teaching hospitals, and that in nonteaching hospitals, more than 40 percent of ED visits by homeless individuals were uninsured.
