In 2009, two million U.S. students, from preschoolers to high school seniors, were enrolled in on-line classes as full-time or part-time students. Enrollment in virtual schools may swell to 10 million by 2014. All but five states offer supplemental on-line learning programs or full-time programs for elementary and secondary school students.
