2011 Medicare Part D Gap Discounts due to the PPACA as of October 31, 2011

October 31, 2011 This chart gives statistics concerning Part D Gap Discounts provided through subsidies and drug discounts through October 31, 2011 for each state. Data for each state includes total beneficiary count, total gap discount amount, average gap discount amount per beneficiary, and dount of PDEs with gap discount. Starting January 1, 2011, Medicare Part D beneficiaries with prescription claims higher than $2,840 received a subsidy and prescription discounts through provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) of 2010.
