November 5, 2009 The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the ACLU of Florida filed a class action lawsuit against the State of Florida over low graduation rates in the School District of Palm Beach County and other districts in the state. The lawsuit asks the court to order yearly improvement of the graduation rate by a percentage set by the court. The ACLU said the poor graduation rate violates the state's constitutional requirement that all students receive a uniform, efficient, safe, secure, and high quality free public education.
