The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the final rule for calendar year 2022 for the end-stage renal disease (ESRD) prospective payment system (PPS). The final rule was issued on November 8, 2021. The topics include updates to the ESRD PPS, the ESRD quality incentive program, and the ESRD Treatment Choices model. The document presents conditions for Medicare payment policies for goods and services provided to beneficiaries with chronic kidney disease during calendar year 2022.
