Transforming Health Care Delivery Through the Use of Information Technology: The Role of the Department of Public Welfare, Office of Medical Assistance Programs
November 17, 2009 In early 2011, the State of Pennsylvania Office of Medical Assistance Programs (OMAP) plans to launch a system that will structure and safeguard the way payments are tracked to Medicaid providers who demonstrate “meaningful use” of electronic health records (EHR). The system, called the Medical Assistance Provider Incentive Repository (MAPIR), will connect to a federal system run by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and to Pennsylvania’s Medicaid Management Information System.
