Wisconsin’s Prevocational Services Definition To Be Submitted to CMS for Family Care Waivers
November 20, 2009 On November 20, 2009, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and representatives from organizations involved with Medicaid waiver-funded prevocational services said they reached an agreement regarding the revised prevocational services definition in Wisconsin's Family Care renewal application. The revised draft also states that Medicaid will not pay for services available under the Rehabilitation Act. Activities that do not contribute to the participant's work skills or work-related knowledge are excluded and not reimbursable. Services are intended to develop and teach general skills that lead to employment such as communicating with supervisors, co-workers . . .
