Procedural Reform Recommendation For The Federal Bureau Of Prisons

The report was released in December 2017 by the Office of the Inpector General for the Department of Justice. The OIG reviewed health claims submitted to the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) by private correctional health care contractors. During this review, the OIG found that BOP has incomplete and inadequate health care claims data in electronic format. The OIG issued a Procedural Reform Recommendation (PRR) directing the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to require all BOP correctional health care contractors to submit all claims in an electronic format.
