HMA Final Report to Texas HHSC: Pilot to Serve Persons With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
December 28, 2010 The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services is considering a recommendation to manage support services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities via a non-capitated enhanced care management program. The recommendation, submitted by Health Management Associates in a report requested by the state/legislature, noted that state should start with a three-year pilot, then review the outcomes to determine if the program savings were sufficient to purchase additional waiver slots and justify expanding the pilot to a statewide redesign of the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities service system.
