Volunteer Supported Decision-Making Advocate Pilot Program – December 2010
December 30, 2010 The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is starting a three-year pilot decision-making advocacy program for people with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. The pilot will demonstrate the use of supported decision-making as an alternative to guardianship for persons with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. The program will be operated by The Arc of San Angelo under a $75,000 grant from the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities (TCDD), which will also manage the pilot program.
