HCUP Fast Stats – Trends In Inpatient Stays

The HCUP Fast Stats, created by the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP), provides easy access to HCUP-based statistics for health care information topics. This tool provides data for the trends in inpatient stays in the U.S. Measures include cost, number of inpatient stays, rate of inpatient stays, cost per stay (actual and inflation-adjusted), length of stay, and in-hospital mortality. Characteristics include age, sex, expected payer, community-level income, and hospitalization type.
