Utah is launching a pilot to evaluate the use of autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) for prescription renewals of medications for chronic conditions. This agreement marks the first state-approved program in the country that allows an AI system to legally participate in medical decisionmaking for prescription renewals. The goal is to give consumers with chronic conditions a faster, automated way to renew medications.
