Low-Doses Of Addiction Treatment Drug Naltrexone Identified As A Potential Treatment For Long COVID 

Low doses of the addiction treatment medication naltrexone may reverse the effects of long COVID, a study suggests. Naltrexone was tested as a treatment for long COVID because people with the condition have problems at the cellular level with their TRPM3 ion channels (tiny doorways in cells) in which calcium does not transfer normally, and naltrexone is known to also act on those same cellular functions. Long Covid can occur regardless of how mild or severe the original infection was, or how long it lasted.
