Commercially Insured Consumers With Opioid Use Disorder Diagnoses Increased 39.8% From 2021 To 2024
The rate of opioid use disorder (OUD) diagnoses among consumers covered by commercial insurance increased by 39.8% between 2021 and 2024, according to an analysis of claims data by FAIR Health. The rate of OUD diagnoses increased from a national average of 386 per 100,000 members in 2021 to an average of 539 per 100,000 members in 2024.
Males were 55.7%of commercially insured consumers with opioid use disorder diagnoses in 2024, and females were 44.3%.
