Diabetes Prevention Outcomes Similar For People With Prediabetes Using AI-Powered Lifestyle Intervention Versus Human Coaching
Researchers recently studied the effectiveness of an evidence-based lifestyle intervention for adults with prediabetes and overweight or obesity. The researchers reported those using an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered mobile app intended to prevent diabetes experienced outcomes on par with those who participated in a human-led diabetes prevention program (DPP) delivered via distance learning. The programs were compared on a composite outcome that included weight loss, an increase in physical activity, and a reduction in HbA1c.
