New Survey Finds Most Americans Planning For Retirement Expect Health Care Costs To Disrupt Financial Security
Approximately 48% of American adults planning for retirement have factored rising health care costs into their plans, according to a recent survey.
About 78% of those who participated reported that they had concerns about how health care costs would affect them in retirement. About 16% reported they felt “very knowledgeable” about expected health care costs in retirement.
More than one-third (37%) noted that if their health care costs were higher than expected, they would need to cut back on routine spending. Another 34% indicated they would reduce spending on travel or leisure.
