30% Of Adults With Mental Illness Report Being Victims Of Violence; 24% Report Committing Violence
Adults with mental illnesses are more likely to be victims than perpetrators of community violence, with 30.9% out of a sample of 4,480 reporting victimization and 23.9% reporting perpetration of at least one violent act within a six-month period of time. Violent acts include threatened physical harm, as well as physical contact intended to cause harm.
