Feds Reviewing Health Insurance Marketplace Plans For Network Adequacy
In preparation for the upcoming open enrollment period for Health Insurance Marketplace Qualified Health Plans (QHP), which starts November 15, 2014, the federal government is reviewing QHP plans for network adequacy. The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) required all QHPs to submit a provider organization network list. Federal rules for the 2015 plan year require that QHPs cover 30% of essential community provider (ECP) organizations in the plan’s target area, or provide justification of adequacy.
