State Medicaid Programs Must Run Criminal Background Checks On All Clinical Professionals & Suppliers Deemed High Risk
By August 1, 2015, state Medicaid programs must begin implementation of criminal background checks for health care clinical professionals and suppliers determined to pose increased financial risk of fraud, waste, or abuse to the Medicaid program. The state Medicaid programs must require any enrolled clinical professionals deemed high-risk to consent to criminal background checks, including fingerprinting.
