On October 23, 2019, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) released a request for proposals (RFP) to expand child mental health and early intervention capacity through the Whole Child Matters Early Childhood Mental Health (EMCH) initiative. Funding of $1.2 million annually is available for up to two years. The goal is to develop a workforce of early childhood mental health consultants able to help prevent preschool expulsions by addressing the social, emotional, behavioral, and overall wellness needs of young children.
