On July 29, 2020, SOC Telemed and Healthcare Merger Corp. (HCMC) announced plans to launch a combined company that will operate as SOC Telemed. HCMC is a special purpose acquisition company that exists to help other companies become publicly traded. By merging with HCMC, SOC Telemed intends to become a public company trading on the NASDAQ.
