Michigan Health Endowment Fund Awards Easterseals MORC Grant To Launch ‘Technology First’ Initiative For I/DD

The Michigan Health Endowment Fund (Health Fund) awarded Easterseals MORC a grant of $352,692 to launch the Technology First initiative in Michigan. The initiative integrates cutting edge technology solutions into the state’s support systems for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). The Technology First strategies emphasizes that technology tools- software as well as devices--should be prioritized during development of individualized care plans for people with I/DD, and should be used with person-centered methods to enhance their meaningful participation in planning, social inclusion, self-determination, and overall quality of life.
