New 264-Bed Texas State Hospital, UTHealth Behavioral Sciences Center, Slated To Open In February 2022

Construction on new 264-bed Texas state hospital, the UTHealth Behavioral Sciences Center, was more than halfway complete as of January 2021. The facility is slated for completion in November 2021, and the first admissions are anticipated in February 2022. The UTHealth Behavioral Sciences Center will provide inpatient psychiatric care for adults from Harris County and surrounding counties.
