The World Health Organization (WHO) recently revealed its plans to create a Department of Digital Health, which would be overseen by the division of the chief scientist—a new role. According to WHO, the new department would support countries in assessing, integrating, regulating, and maximizing the opportunities of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).
