Trident Medical Center To Break Ground On New Behavioral Health Hospital In Fall 2021

Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina, is scheduled to break ground in the fall of 2021 on a 60-bed freestanding behavioral hospital. The $30.4 million facility will be the first freestanding facility in the South Carolina Lowcountry region in more than 30 years. In 2014 Trident Medical Center opened a 17-bed psychiatric unit in the hospital, but demand has been greater than the unit could meet.
