The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (HSC) invested $7 million in a research project dubbed the "Black Alzheimer's Brain Study," to learn why Alzheimer's disease disproportionately impacts Black families. HSC launched an outreach campaign to recruit 1,000 North Texas-based residents, ages 50 and older to research why African Americans are at a greater biological risk of Alzheimer's disease. This study is part of the HSC Health & Aging Brain Study.
