15% Of Assisted Living Residents Involved In Resident-To-Resident Aggression
About 15.2% of assisted living residents are involved in aggressive behavior with another resident each month, according to a study that monitored 930 residents of 14 large assisted-living facilities in New York state. The residents were monitored for events over a one-month period. The most common forms of aggression were verbal (11.2%), physical (such as hitting, kicking, grabbing, spitting, or throwing things: (4.4%)), and sexual events (0.8%).
