A full 18% of adults with tinnitus reduced work hours (11%) or stopped working entirely (7%). Overall, tinnitus affects an estimated 15% of the global population.

The research looked at data from 449 participants who wanted to enroll in an eight-week internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) intervention for tinnitus. Of these, 200 completed the ICBT intervention.
