More Than 2,100 Participants In Medicare Bundled Payment Initiative Move Into Risk-Bearing Phase

On August 13, 2015, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that as of July 1, 2015, more than 2,100 participants in the Medicare Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative had moved to the risk-bearing phase of the initiative. The BPCI participants moving from design Phase 1 to the risk-bearing Phase 2 include 360 awardees and 1,755 episode initiators.
