U.S. Hospital Average Daily Census Dropped By 1.3% In 2013
From 2012 to 2013, the average daily census at United States hospitals dropped by 1.3%, from 600,000 in 2012 to 592,000 in 2013. The number of hospitals dropped by 37, from 5,723 in 2012, to 5,686 in 2013. The total number of beds decreased by 0.7%, from 921,000 in 2012 to 915,000 in 2013.
