Military Health System Awards $139 Million Patient Engagement Contract To McKesson’s Relay Health Division

On March 24, 2016, the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency announced it had awarded Relay Health, a division of McKesson Technologies Inc. a $139 million contract to continue providing patient engagement and interoperable secure messaging services (SMS) for the Military Health System (MHS). The SMS will be used by active military service members, their dependents, and retired military enrolled in TRICARE to send secure emails to their health care professionals about non-urgent health care matters, such as requesting appointments, referrals, or prescription refills.
