Health care costs were the top financial concern among retirement-age adults, cited by 81% of respondents in a recent survey. The next most common concerns were running out of funds to maintain their lifestyle or make ends meet, at 67%, and covering housing-related costs, at 52%.
For the survey, health care costs included premiums, prescriptions, and long-term care. Housing costs included rent, mortgage payments, taxes, and maintenance. Respondents were asked about their top worries for 2026, their regrets and resolutions, and their attitudes about their financial situation.
