Alaska Legislature In Special Session To Consider Governor’s Proposal For Medicaid Expansion & Redesign
On April 28, 2015, the Alaska legislature began a special session to finalize the state budget and make a final decision on the Governor’s proposal to expand Medicaid on July 1, 2015. The proposal, called The Healthy Alaska Plan (House Bill 148b), was introduced in March 2015. The proposed legislation seeks a Medicaid demonstration waiver to facilitate Medicaid reform and redesign, including a coordinated managed care demonstration project with a global payment fee structure.
