Arizona To Require Provider Organizations To Conduct Background Checks & Training On Detecting Abuse
On February 6, 2019, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued an executive order to better protect the safety of people with disabilities who are receiving state-funded services. The order directs the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Department of Economic Security (DES) to each strengthen their protocols to prevent, recognize and report abuse and neglect for both provider organizations and parents or guardians of individuals with disabilities.
