On January 1, 2022, the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) launched the new Medicaid Arkansas Health and Opportunity for Me (ARHOME) 1115 waiver program to provide premium assistance to Medicaid beneficiaries in the expansion population. ARHOME replaces the state’s previous Arkansas Works premium assistance program for this population. The waiver is in effect through December 31, 2026.

The primary difference between ARHOME and Arkansas Works is that ARHOME has no work requirement. The Arkansas Works program linked Medicaid eligibility to participation in work or activities to prepare for work, but a federal court ruling struck down those requirements . . .
