Arkansas Proposing Medicaid Eligibility Change To Reduce Eligibility For 60,000 & Impose Work Requirements

On May 3, 2017, Arkansas lawmakers voted to change Medicaid income eligibility to no more than 100% of the federal poverty level (FPL), which will result in moving 60,000 people off the state's hybrid Medicaid expansion plan called Arkansas Works. Other remaining Medicaid expansion enrollees may be required to demonstrate their efforts to find and sustain employment to maintain eligibility for Medicaid. Implementation is planned for January 1, 2018.
