Medicaid & CHIP Enrollment Up 15% Over August 2013 Levels

As of August 2014, Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program data indicated that 67.9 million people were enrolled in one of the two programs in the 50 states plus the District of Columbia. The 67.9 million represents an increase of 8.7 million since January 2014, and almost a 15% increase over the 58.2 million average monthly enrollment for Medicaid and CHIP for July through September 2013. In August 2014, 735,279 more people were enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP than in August 2013.
