Blue Cross & Blue Shield Partners With Lyft For Increased Access To Health Care Transportation

On May 18, 2017, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) announced a nationwide partnership with Lyft, a ride sharing service, to provide transportation to health care appointments for BCBSA members. BCBSA-affiliates will offer the service at no cost to members living in “transportation deserts,” areas lacking in transportation alternatives servicing health care facilities. The goal is to reduce the number of missed appointments for non-emergency medical care.
