CMS Approves Medicaid Plans In Washington & Montana To Cover Mobile Crisis Intervention Services
On October 20, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved state plan amendments (SPA) submitted by Montana and Washington State as the most recent states to implement mobile crisis behavioral health services under the model in the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). As of November 2, 2023, CMS has approved proposals from 12 states and the District of Columbia for community-based mobile crisis intervention teams to provide Medicaid crisis services.
