CMS Proposes New Behavioral Health Integration Add-On Codes For Advanced Primary Care Management Services
On July 14, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the proposed 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. It includes a provision for new Medicare Part B add-on codes to reimburse for behavioral health integration (BHI) and psychiatric collaborative care management (CoCM) services. The add-on codes could be used by primary care physicians, rural health clinics (RHCs), and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) that provide advanced primary care management (APCM) to Medicare beneficiaries.
The new supplementary BHI and CoCM codes are designed to facilitate the coordination and reimbursement of additional behavioral health interventions or collaborative care . . .
