Colorado Medical Board Adopts New Telehealth Guidelines
The Colorado Medical Board (CMB) adopted new telehealth guidelines on August 20, 2015 in advance of a new state law that expands insurance coverage of telehealth to rural and urban residents statewide. The law goes into January 1, 2017. The CMB’s new guidelines do not specify a specific type of connection or technology, or require patients to have an in-person office visit prior to using telehealth services, or require telehealth services to be performed in a specific type of setting or facility.
