Colorado Schools File Suit About Transportation Provision Of ‘School Choice’ Amendment To Foster Care Law
On August 6, 2018, the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) and the Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE), six school districts, and two individual taxpayers, filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a school choice transportation amendment. The law, House Bill (HB) 18-1306, was signed on June 1, 2018. Its provisions require school districts to ensure educational continuity for students in out-of-home placement.
