Department Of Veterans Affairs Outlines New Goals To End Veteran Homelessness In The Greater Los Angeles Area
To end veteran homeless in California's greater Los Angeles area during 2022, the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is increasing permanent housing placements by 10%, and increasing Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) vouchers to 75% or higher. Through these efforts, at least 50% of veterans admitted to HUD-VASH will be housed within 90 days. VA Secretary Denis McDonough announced the goal on February 25, 2022, during a visit to the area for the local Point-in-Time count of homeless individuals.
